Chef Yan introduced Pickering an alternat Chinese fare that was so unlike the ho-hum food that was offered elsewhere. Even old staples like egg rolls are and flavourful unlike the tasteless lumps served elsewhere.The variety of pakaged deals offer excellent value and variety including hot and spicy dishes.We like to order one of the packages and then add one or two of our favourites. That way we get to enjoy Chef Yan's food for a meal and at least a couple of snacks. The best deal around here for Chinese food is definitely Chef Yans

My wife and I had just finished a 1300 mile road trip in a 20 foot truck, with all our possessions and 2 large dogs. After 15 years we had decided to return to Canada, from Florida. Our organized departure turned to chaos as we raced to finish loading the huge truck, with Hurricane Wilma just hours away and churning straight for us. We drove three days through wind, rain and eventually snow before we finally arrived in Pickering. Seven PM and exhausted, we picked up the keys and proceeded along Bayly St. to our new home. Chef Yan's storefront caught my eye and I swerved the big truck into his parking lot. "No time like the present to get to know our neighbours!" I said to my wife. It ws Chef Yan's friendly greeting and "Welcome to the neighbourhood," that helped us immediately unwind and feel at home for the first time. We ate our feast seated on the floor in an empty house and loved every minute of it. Thanks Chef Yan for being the first ambassador to Pickering! By the way....the food was incredible.

Since 1989 I have been eating chinese food at the Golden House restaraunt in Scarborough. I have never been able to find a chinese restaraunt that has food of comparable quality to Golden House. I moved to Pickering and was unfamiliar with the area. I started to try various chinese restaraunts within the area. Every restaraunt we tried the food was mediocre and we would never return to purchase more food. I finally gave up on Chinese food after searching from December to March. Then I was driving by and I saw this restaraunt. I was hesistant on whether to look into purchasing food, but I was desperate for some superb chinese food. I finally went in, and the gentlemen said "the food is a little bit pricey, but the food is worth it." I stood there for twenty minutes contemplating whether or not I should purchase some food. The employees kept convincing me how good the food is. I phoned my husband and he told me to just get it. I decided to get some. I rushed home, and opened the food and took my first bite. The food was amazing, it had been a while since I ate chinese food this good. It was amazing to know that the first bite taste as good as the last. Chef Yan, your food is absolutely amazing. I am so happy that I went it that day and bought my food. I now order every Friday night.

But, what makes Chef Yan special is their friendly service, their awesome food , their more than generous portions (gotta love those HUGE egg rolls!), and most importantly - their great prices. When I think of Chef Yan, delicious comes to mind… absolutely delicious Chinese food. That should be enough for any take-out… but no. Chef Yan is also a great value. A friend told me about Chef Yan years ago and I am so glad they did. Chef Yan is by far the best Chinese Food in Canada. Although, I order Chef Yan all the time, there are two very special days that I never miss ordering. The first day is New Years Day, what better way to start off the year than to have Chef Yan in my house. The second day is January 30th. This is the day my brother passed away in the year 2000. I flew out to Calgary and spent the last 10 days of his life with him. Later that evening we had ordered Chinese Food and I remember thinking this is not as good as Chef Yan. I am so glad that you are here in Pickering Chef Yan to help comfort me on this day.

Simply the best food in town! I have ordering from Chef Yan since moving to Pickering. Their food is not only delicious, but they give very generous portions, for a fraction of what other takeouts charge. Last weekend 8 of us ate for $50, plus we had leftovers!!!!
